Power-One's Y5017P low-profile, high-efficiency, non-isolated point-of-load (POL) DC-DC converter is designed to deliver programmable low voltages at high currents in close proximity to the loads. A horizontal surface-mount version of the recently released Y5117P, it is an extension of Power-One's advanced maXyz product line for applications requiring low-profile devices.
The Y5017P offers a combination of a wide-input voltage range (3,0 to 13,2 V d.c.) and a programmable output (0,7 to 3,63 V d.c.), making it well-suited for many intermediate bus architecture (IBA) POL applications. The Y5017P eliminates the need for a large number of different part numbers resulting in supply chain and inventory cost savings. The replacement of through-hole components with the Y5017P surface-mount package provides additional cost savings in the assembly process.
The small footprint (16 x 32 mm) of the Y5017P delivers an exceptional current density of 3,32 A/cm2. Its low profile (7,7 mm) makes it especially suitable for board designs where space is constrained and vertical clearance off the board is a problem. Additional features include remote voltage sensing, remote enable (on/off), output short-circuit protection, and a -40 to 110°C operating-temperature range.
