Case for cable-connected electronics

OKW's popular 'Smart Cases' Series has been extended to meet customer demands. In addition to the existing versions of the size 'L' model, OKW has added new versions of this case without a battery compartment for equipment that is powered via a cable. The removal of the battery compartment gives 30% more volume for the electronics.

A hole for a cable grommet can be machined into the end of the case by OKW, to suit the specific grommet being used by the customer. The cable can then be fixed to the board with a pull-relief.

The 'Smart Case' range also includes a version with a standard cable grommet in thermoplastic (TPE), in volcano dark grey colour. The bottom shell of the case is already prepared to accept this grommet, which accepts standard size round cables diameter 3,5 to 5 mm, and prevents kinks. With this standard offering the designer can reduce additional reworking of the case on assembly of the electronic parts.

The new 'Smart Case L' versions are available in impact-resistant polystyrene (UL94 HB), colours off-white RAL 9002 or black RAL 9005 and infrared Plexiglass. Ergonomically shaped, this case series is especially suitable for medical and communications equipment. The cable grommet can be combined with the sealing kit accessory to protect the electronics from the dust and moisture of harsher environments.
