Clare has announced it has recently booked multimillion dollar orders from leading telecommunications companies for its line card access switch (LCAS) product - the largest orders in Clare company history.
The proprietary Clare flagship LCAS product is a monolithic IC that provides the high-voltage functionality to replace all the traditional electromechanical relays found on both voice and integrated voice-data (IVD) line cards in central office (CO) and digital loop carrier (DLC) communications equipment. LCAS products have low, matched resistance enabling high longitudinal balance, ultra-low power consumption and tertiary protection features including current limiting, thermal shutdown and SLIC protection, says Clare.
Clare manufactures all its LCAS products using its unique high-voltage silicon-on-insulator (SOI) process technology. The SOI process provides design flexibility, reduced costs and meets the stringent 20 year life reliability requirements demanded in telecommunications infrastructure applications.
