World connector statistics: Report

The new 2004 edition of Bishop and Associates Connector Market Handbook is available. This comprehensive report analyses all aspects of the world electronic connector market, providing detailed connector statistics by equipment sector and product category for North America, Europe, Japan, China, Asia Pacific, and the ROW region.

Data is provided for the years 1999-2003, and projections for 2008 (including five-year CAGRs). Automotive is the largest market for electronic connector products with 2003 shipments of $7,394 bn. Connectors used in the automotive sector account for 26,1% of all connectors manufactured. Ranking second is computers and peripherals, with 24,0% of the total market. In terms of change for the 2002 to 2003 period, Table 1 reflects that the largest growth in the connector market was in the Consumer sector, with Telecom/Datacom connector sector having the only decline (-4,3%).
