Aries Electronics' 44-pin test plug for use with standard PLCC sockets can either have the cable soldered directly to the plug, or on the socket or on the header on the topside of the plug. This gives users three choices of connections for maximum flexibility.
The rugged test plug can withstand multiple insertions and extractions according to the maker, and it can also be used to debug and test circuit board prototypes as well as interface additional circuitry to an existing design.
The 44-301695-XX test plug's body is constructed of a 1,58 mm thick, FR-4 material with 28 g of copper traces, and is UL94V-0 rated. Male pins are brass alloy 360 with 5,08 µm tin over 2,54 µm in nickel per QQ-N-290. The socket version pins are phosphor bronze alloy per QQ-B-750.
This test plug is part of Aries' Correct-A-Chip 'intelligent connectors' that can modify existing designs without changing existing PCB layouts. These adapters can also incorporate both passive and active components. The test plug is available in custom materials, platings, sizes and configurations to suit specific customer requirements.
