Switch has improved raised profile

25 August 2004 Switches, Relays & Keypads

EAO offers a new, raised version of its Series 56 indicator. The raised shape also allows the illumination to be seen from the side. The indicator is built robustly to meet the rigorous demands of public use.

It has a rugged, polycarbonate conical lens sealed to IP67 from the front against water and dirt ingress. Shock and vibration resistant, it conforms to CE standards. A chromium-plated bezel can be specified for extra protection.

Visible in bad weather conditions, the LED illumination provides a lifetime of up to 100 000 hours continuous use. It is available in a choice of red, green, yellow, blue and white. The switch bezel can be supplied in a choice of contrasting colours. With fixing screws it is simple to mount and can be quickly integrated within existing electrical systems with a cable and a 2,8 x 0,8 mm AMP plug-in connection.

This indicator can be used inside or out for applications where it is important to quickly assess the status of a system. These include door controls on public transport vehicles where a driver or guard may need to determine from a distance whether all doors are closed.

Other Series 56 products include single- and double-sided-pushbuttons and indicators; a pushbutton that mounts without the need for fixing screws; a glass-mounting pushbutton; secret-until-lit indicators; pushbuttons with braille and engraved symbols.
