Micrel offers a low dropout regulator in Teeny SC-70 package that has a low dropout, high PSRR, and low ground current. Coupled with low noise and fast turn-on time, the company says it makes it an ideal solution for demanding consumer electronic applications. The new MIC5253 chip's miniature, 2 x 2 mm footprint gives designers an effective solution for a variety of space-conscious portable applications.
Power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) is more than 70 dB at 1 kHz with ground current of less than 95 μA at 100 mA. The high PSRR enables the MIC5253 to provide a very low-noise power supply for sensitive RF applications. It also features an industry-low dropout for an SC-70 package LDO of 165 mV typical at 100 mA, allowing the battery to run longer in portable applications.
