The JAZ15 family of non-isolated point-of-load converters from XP can be programmed with external resistors to deliver tightly regulated outputs from 0,9 to 3,36 V at up to 15 A, so customers can use the same converter for multiple applications on a board. The converters accept input voltages from 3,0 to 5,5 V d.c. and come in single in-line pin (SIP) or surface mount (SMT) packages. SMT versions are offered taped-and-reeled for automated board assembly. With 94% efficiency, JAZ15 converters generate minimal heat, simplifying system cooling.
Offering fixed outputs from 1 to 3,3 V, the JAZ10 family offers similar characteristics to the JAZ15 but with 10 A maximum output and up to 95% efficiency.
In both product families line and load regulation are ±0,2% and ±0,5% respectively and there is no minimum load requirement. Ripple and noise are 50 mV peak-to-peak at 20 MHz bandwidth and transient response time is less than 200 μs for a 25% step load change. The output voltage temperature coefficient is ±0,03% per °C max.
The converters have continuous short circuit protection and over-temperature protection is effective from +120°C. They operate from -40 to +90°C ambient, delivering full power at up to +60°C with 200 LFM cooling for the JAZ15 and up to +70°C with 100 LFM cooling for the JAZ10.
