1 MHz AC/DC current probe for peak measurement to 500 A

22 September 2004 Test & Measurement News & Events

LEM has introduced the PR55 current probe for AC and DC current measurement up to 50 A rms and pulse current measurements up to 500 A peak with accuracy at frequencies up to 1 MHz. The new probe is said to be ergonomic, robust and easy-to-use. It weighs only 150 g, has a 12 mm aperture and can be used with all common types of scopes with BNC plugs.

Designed for applications including switch mode power supplies, UPSs and other electronic circuits working at high frequencies, the PR55 is particularly suitable for development departments and on-site inspections.

Key features: DC to 1 MHz; ±1% accuracy of measured value; fast response time of 1 μs max; sliding mechanism for opening and closing.

The PR55 can be powered from an external +12 to +15 V d.c. 200 mA power supply. It complies with the EN 61010-1, EN 61010-2-031 and -032 safety standards.
