A new position paper entitled 'Bridging the Gap between EDA and MCAD' has been recently released by technology research firm Collaborative Product Development Associates (CPDA) that recognises the growing crossover between the electronic and mechanical arenas, and the challenge for all industry verticals to integrate these diverse design elements accurately and efficiently.
The report praises Cimmetry Systems' AutoVue product, which addresses these needs by delivering the unique ability to combine native EDA and MCAD parts, components and assemblies in a Digital Mockup without losing any of the intelligence and attribute data of the original files. AutoVue goes beyond conventional visualisation and collaboration functionality by including virtual prototyping and design validation tools in one all-inclusive solution.
The position paper is available for download at http://cpd-associates.com and www.cimmetry.com/whitepapers/CPDA_AutoVue18.pdf. A fully functional evaluation copy of AutoVue is available at www.cimmetry.com
