SNMP adapter for UPS

Power Electronics / Power Management
The Multenet Power Agent, recently released for a worldwide distribution, is specifically designed to provide UPS systems that do not support Ethernet connectivity with network management over multiple standards like HTTP, Telnet and SNMP. It connects to the UPS through a standard serial port and supports a number of Standard UPS serial protocols.
The Power Agent is also designed to be adaptable to different proprietary protocols, which can easily be uploaded onto the Agent. The UPS can be accessed via its 10/100 baseT Ethernet connection, hence allowing it to be monitored and remotely managed via a Web interface, and also via SNMP.
As this product was specifically designed for the UPS industry, Multenet has also developed its own shut-down software, Multenet PowerDown. This supports a range of operating systems and offers a messaging service, and re-programmable timed shutdown for the clients on the network. It can also log the UPS event summary for up to 48 hours and e-mail this out. Power Agent can supply visual readings of current UPS data and alarms, and can broadcast these via e-mails, and supply informative text pop-ups.
