Measurement and automation conference
3 November 2004
News
National Instruments (NI) South Africa will be presenting its annual measurement and automation conference, the NI Technical Symposium, in Cape Town on 24 November 2004, and in Midrand on 26 November 2004. The primary focus of this event is to expose attendees to solutions within industry, and to show-case new National Instruments technologies.
The NI Technical Symposium is a complementary, full-day event featuring a variety of instructor-led sessions for test, measurement and control. This year's conference will have two targeted tracks, for both new and advanced users.
Presentation topics to be discussed include an introduction to SignalExpress, a new interactive software package for acquiring, comparing, automating and storing electronic measurements; creating handheld measurement systems with LabVIEW; PXI and LabVIEW - a platform for test, control, and design applications; new features of LabVIEW 7.1; how to build rugged industrial machine control systems with CompactRIO; an intro to LabVIEW control design and simulation tools; PC bus technologies; and more.
In addition, Shurlok International will give a presentation about the development of an automated test bench for testing electronic modules used in the BMW 3 Series. The University of Pretoria will discuss the National Instruments Educational Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Suite (NI ELVIS) and its uses in computer modelling and simulation. IST Industrial will present a segment about a loose parts monitoring system designed for Eskom Koeberg Nuclear Power Station. TLC Software will give a presentation about the measurement and analysis of electrical power.
