Schurter's series EF11 power entry module combines an appliance inlet, according to IEC/EN 60320-1, and 2-pole circuit breaker for equipment. Unlike popular fused modules, the circuit breaker provides manual reset of the circuit, and higher current limiting characteristics. It also provides circuit status indication depending on the switch position.
Circuit breaker options include 1 or 2-pole thermal overload protection up to 16 A (20 A), or without bi-metal for 2-pole on/off switching only (max 16 A). An optional under-voltage release can detect power loss and protect against unwanted restart. A remote trip function is also available.
Power entry modules are designed to save panel space, cut parts count and streamline wiring. The EF11 is pending VDE approvals up to 16 A at 250 V, and UL and CSA up to 20 A at 125 and 250 V. Applications include higher power consuming equipment, like office automation equipment, industrial workstations, base stations, file servers, and power supplies.
