Multipurpose aluminium cases

17 November 2004 Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services

Fischer Elektronik, manufacturer of heatsinks, connectors and 19" extension systems, has extended its range of cases with two new multipurpose aluminium cases with guide slots spaced at 5,08 mm (1 HP) for 100 mm Eurocards.

The 'Eurotainer design' case has a tough plastic frame (classified UL 94 V-0) that allows firm and easy connection of Eurotainer design cases in both the horizontal and vertical directions. Feet of various sizes are available that allow the case to be applied either as a table or a desk console. The seals applied provide protection class IP54.

The 'Rail design' case has a special ergonomic shape combined with lateral aluminium handle profiles and a shock-proof plastic cover (UL 94 V-0) that enables safe handling when transported. The case may be used as a desk console. When seals are fitted, protection class IP65 may be achieved.

For these cases front plastic foils and membrane keyboards may be fitted. The case and the cover plates may be mechanically machined, provided with surface finish or printed to meet customers' requirements. The cases are supplied as a kit including cover plates and assembling material. EMC-shielded designs, achieved by the use of electrical conductive surfaces and additional conductive seals, are also available.
