Many applications in mobile telecoms, telecom networks, wind parks and other outdoor applications tend to require more space for their electronic distribution systems. The new Container System from Rittal can provide a safe environment for high-end equipment. With innovative features, the equipment containers, which are available in three standard sizes, are substantially more light-weight than conventional sheet steel containers due to their unique self-supporting construction, while also tolerating very high static load (improved torsional rigidity).
Their low weight is achieved by the self-supporting sandwich panel construction with connecting corner sections. The panels of galvanised sheet steel and an inner layer of expanded polystyrene (EPS) are responsible for the superior heat transfer coefficient (K value) of 0,5 W/m². The inside is lined with coated plywood panels while the fibreglass flat roof has a slight gradient and withstands loads up to 10 kN/m². Floor loads are up to 7 kN/m² for the standard version.
Rittal offers customer-specific solutions. Customisation includes not only cut-outs for climate control equipment but also the internal layout, colour finish, and increased floor load and dimensions.
