New options for colourful switch

9 March 2005 Switches, Relays & Keypads

EAO has added a new size option to its Series 95 colour-changing pushbuttons. The new, medium-sized 15,88 mm² pushbutton complements the other 12,7 mm² and 19,05 mm² sizes, offering designers more choice for creating control panels that are functional and intuitive to use.

In particular, EAO recommends these switches for audio, video, mixing-desk and lighting-console applications.

Series 95 offers the choice to add up to three LEDs, (two on the 12,7 mm version), where the colour change of an LED indicates different operating status of equipment. Full-face illumination provides high visibility, even when viewed from the side. For marking purposes, the diffuser can be either printed or engraved, or a film insert fitted between the diffuser and the lens.

Developed specifically for audio, video, mixing-desk and lighting console applications, the PCB-mounting Series 95 pushbutton features a noiseless switching action so as to not affect the purity of sound within a recording or broadcast environment.

Series 95's feature one N/O self-cleaning gold-plated switch element rated at a minimum 1 mV d.c./100 μA and maximum 48 V d.c./50 mA. Overall height is 24 mm. They can mount on PCBs between 1,5 to 2,5 mm thick and can be snap-mounted to the PCB for easy flow-soldering.
