IP67-compliant DeviceNet plug connectors

9 March 2005 Interconnection

Contact inserts are now available for Variosub-DeviceNet plug connectors from Phoenix Contact that can be directly soldered on the PCB. These can also be used for making cable-to-cable connections in the field. Hence, one can now directly integrate plug connectors into one's devices.

The fieldbus plug connectors with push-pull locking offer reliable IP67 protection in industrial applications. Integrated EMC contacting insulates against electromagnetic fields and enables disturbance-free data transmission. Two integrated cable glands make it easy to implement line structures using incoming and outgoing lines in thick and thin formats. The couplings can be used for cable-to-cable ('flying') connections or directly mounted to a housing wall, thus making T or X cable branches possible.

A special Combicon contact insert with 30 micro-inch thick gold coating - in accordance with ODVA fieldbus organisation guidelines - ensures faultless functioning and compatibility throughout the system.
