Fibre-optic cable testing now simplified

Characterising the insertion loss and return loss of fibre-optic cable is simplified with the new 525N, says its manufacturer, Tempo.

Testing fibre-optic cable in the field can be a time consuming and complicated process. The 525N helps simplify acceptance testing by automating the measurement process, informing the user of PASS/FAIL condition on the fibre under test based on user set thresholds. The 525N automatically assigns a fibre ID, and saves the test result to internal memory for later analysis.
