Tech Rubber's higher specification silicone rubber called 'Fluorosilicone rubber' (or FE), offers both superior electrical characteristics and resistance to heat, cold, acids and solvents than standard silicone. FE is used for keypads in access control, cellphones, remote controls, communication and top end military products. It can also be used for gaskets, seals, diaphragms and many moulded parts.
The five basic material products offer a Shore 40 to 80° hardness, superior workability and resistance to dynamic fatigue. The type 'FE262-U' meets Boeing's BMCI-53 specifications for extrusion moulding. The resistance to oil, solvents and the main acid chemicals shows a higher tolerance, in most cases, to the normal range of silicones. This material is intended and suggested where higher specifications are required.
