Smooth touch anti-vandal keyboard with trackball

9 March 2005 Switches, Relays & Keypads IT in Manufacturing

A vandal-resistant metal keyboard and integrated trackball from EAO is claimed to be extremely tough without sacrificing the smooth key action of a normal PC keyboard. The integrated unit is built from brushed stainless-steel and Zamac (zinc alloy) and features non-flammable keys that cannot be pulled off. Offering high levels of shock and vibration resistance and a service life of at least 1,5 million actuations, it is IP 67 rated from front, making it suitable for outdoor use.

One of the most significant advantages is the smooth keystroke. The keys have a 1,5 mm travel and need only a gentle press. They are finished in matt chrome and are laser engraved for high-definition long-lasting black marking. The integrated keyboard/trackball also offers a choice of PS2 or USB interface languages; and Internet dedicated shortcut keys like 'www', '.com' and '@'.
