African Utility Week to offer energising insight

Reaffirming her dedication to Africa's energy sector, South African minister of minerals and energy, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, will be one of the featured keynote speakers at the African Utility Week taking place in Cape Town, 16-19 May 2005. The minister is a supporter and driver of the restructuring programme for South Africa and she will present on the rollout plans for South Africa for the year ahead.

The African Utility Week's unique training, networking and discussion platforms will demonstrate how utilities can be more efficient and offer cost-effective services through improved infrastructure maintenance, load management, delivery and revenue management choices. The event will turn 'talk into action' by providing an overall blueprint for strategic planning, implementation and technical management for the African utility business.

Water, gas and electricity utility professionals from over 30 countries will descend to Cape Town in May to share their experiences on how to adapt smartly during the rapid technological changes taking place in this sector.

The program features over 60 industry-elite speakers. African Utility Week is organised by Spintelligent, sponsored by Actaris, Choice Africa, KoCos, Landis+Gyr, MTN, Syntell and the City of Cape Town? is the 2005 host utility.
