Epson has developed an ASIC series that is compatible with 30 V interfaces. The S1K70000H series of 0,18 µm ASIC chips use miniaturised process technology. Because the latest electronic devices use lower-voltage power sources, higher-density products have not been available for devices requiring interfaces compatible with high voltages. To meet these needs, Epson used its driver development experience to create the high voltage capability and design technology used in the S1K70000H series. This series is compatible not only with 30 V interfaces, but also with 5 V interfaces, so can also be used with peripheral devices powered by standard 5 V sources. The ASIC can therefore be installed in automotive products, factory automation and similar equipment without any adjustment to peripheral devices.
