Full range of service and product concepts is presented at Computex 2005

29 June 2005 News

Advantech participated in the annual Computex exhibition held recently in Taipei. During this five-day show, the company also hosted its ePlatform solution day, themed: 'Trusted ePlatform Services'. Here, the company delivered a series of design production service concepts for various customers ranging from system integrators to procurement personnel.

Trusted ePlatform service showcase

At Computex, Advantech introduced its newest system on module (SOM), SOM-5780, an open PICMG standard COM Express solution that is fast and incorporates the latest interface technologies. As well as offering PCI Express support, SOM-5780 uses the Pentium M processor that provides high performance and low power computing on a baseboard design of customer-specific application requirements. Advantech also displayed a full range of board and system solutions, including embedded box computers - the ARK series - which are fanless Pentium M powered compact box PCs with flexible I/O and ruggedised features, plus other industrial computers for specific mission critical uses.

To complete the trusted ePlatform services theme, the company also showcased vertical applications like residential terminals for smart home networking, vehicle-mounted computing platforms and digital signage players for 'PC free' presentations and public point-of-information display systems.

Attendees at the ePlatform Solution Day got a glimpse of Advantech's technology roadmap and design strategies, and during the four breakout sessions - including Embedded Computing, Industrial & Networking Computing, Design & Manufacturing Services and Digital Video Surveillance - attendees had the opportunity to interact face-to-face with Advantech's engineer team and evaluate ePlatform products and solutions directly.
