Phoenix Contact's surge protection device, the SFP 1-20/120AC, combining surge protection with a protection circuit against high frequency interference. The robust housing is DIN-rail mountable and can be easily retrofitted with existing power supplies.
The protection device is rated for a maximum nominal current of 20 A and a nominal voltage of up to 120 V a.c. The integrated varistors are thermally-monitored. If the protection circuitry is overloaded as a result of too frequent or excessive demands, the varistors are safely cut off from the mains supply. In this case an indicator lamp on the housing signals the overload status. For remote monitoring, a changeover contact with floating earth is integrated into the protection unit.
The protection unit is specially conceived for the requirements of the American and Asian markets. The arrester protection circuit meets the requirements of UL 1449 ED.2 according to IEEE, and the filter circuit meets the requirements of UL 1283.
