19" extractor handle for high force insertion and extraction

27 July 2005 Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services

Through the increasing number of connectors and pins on boards, the insertion and extraction forces with, for example, AdvancedTCA, MicroTCA, CompactPCI and VME-/VME64 based systems, are constantly growing. Schroff has thus developed a new heavy duty extractor handle - the XL - with a new 'intelligent' lever mechanism that can deal with these extreme insertion and extraction forces.

The patented construction of this handle makes it possible to transfer large forces to the subrack or case without distortion of the horizontal rails. The same handle can be fixed both to the top or the bottom of a plug-in unit, is pre-assembled and clipped to the front panel and secured from the rear with one screw. Its symmetrical construction, with two side pieces, ensures even load distribution for loads up to 1500 N and prevents possible distortion of the subrack or case frame.

The ergonomically-shaped handle has been manufactured from heavy duty plastic and can be used with all 19" subracks and enclosures with or without a microswitch.
