Polymer capacitors operate up to 125°C

27 July 2005 Passive Components

Epcos' new series of polymer capacitors can operate at ambient temperatures up to 125°C at voltage derating (66% of rated voltage). The B45296W series polymer types are available in cases size D or E with capacitances from 100 to 680 μF for rated voltages from 2,5 to 10 V. Equivalent series resistance (ESR) is less than 35 mΩ.

All series of polymer capacitors from Epcos combine high volumetric capacitance with minimal ESR. They are marketed under the TOPCap trade name. They can be implemented in case sizes B, C, D and E, and as low-profile versions in case sizes R (1,2 mm insertion height), W (1,5 mm) and V (2 mm) for ambient temperatures up to 105°C. The solid electrolyte prevents ageing effects and they comply with the RoHS directive.
