A rugged, reliable and vandal-resistant metal keyboard, designed specifically to operate in harsh internal and external public environments has been launched by EAO. The heavy-duty, all metal W.series keyboard range features a front plate constructed from brushed stainless-steel, together with chromed Zamac (zinc alloy) anti-pull-off keys. The W.series delivers high levels of resistance against shock and vibration and has a service life of at least 1,5 million actuations.
This keyboard range is ideally suited to 'hostile' public service environments including information and multimedia terminal applications. With protection of IP67 from the front against the ingress of dust and water, the range is ideal for outdoor applications.
Whilst very tough, the W.series keyboard retains the smooth key action of a normal PC keyboard, with a 1,5 mm travel offering good tactile feedback. The keys are finished in matt chrome and laser engraved for high-definition black marking.
