Balluff has expanded its product range of electromechanical switches with a complete wireless transceiver solution for the license-free 868 MHz ISM band.
The single and multiple position limit switches are mechanically-actuated, eg, by means of a steel cam, while the signal transmission is wireless. The use of wireless signal transmission eliminates any wiring to or from the electromechanical switches. Power is generated independently, requiring no maintenance and eliminating any form of external energy supply or battery.
The Balluff Wireless Transmission System can be quickly and individually tailored to applications or changing space conditions. The system is networkable, which means it can work with several receivers simultaneously. Ease of installation and programming as well as maintenance-free operation represent additional benefits of this new system - properties that make the Balluff Wireless Transmission System an attractive solution in industry.
Applications include drag chains, rotary index tables, grippers or specialty machine building. Balluff additionally offers a custom designed, comprehensive range of accessories such as antennas, repeaters, cams and cam trays for the system.
