Analyser range claimed to solve network problems up to 70% faster

Concilium Technologies, a local supplier of telecommunications and IT network performance and security management products and systems, has a range of products available that it claims will allow a business to solve its most complex network problems up to 70% faster than they do currently. The company also believes it is possible to slash up to 40% from operating expenses associated with these problems.

Concilium says it is able to do this with Agilent Technologies' Network Analyser range that troubleshoots and analyses network problems on LAN/WAN/ATM and VOIP networks.

The Agilent Network Analyser system is said to be a breakthrough in test and measurement technology, bringing together the testing of all access technologies into a single product. This allows full and uniform testing of network and higher-layer performance measurement and protocol analysis over any supported lower-layer LAN or WAN technology. The system is designed for both dispatched and distributed testing currently at rates up to 1 Gbps.

"Agilent Technologies is driven to continuously develop innovative solutions that greatly reduce the cost of managing your network and increase your team's productivity, and recently entered into a new era of network troubleshooting with this Centralised Network Troubleshooting approach," says Danie Coetzee, Telecom sales engineer, Concilium.

"The Agilent Network Analyser product family provides tools for today's field service network managers, engineers, and technicians for the deployment, troubleshooting, maintenance and optimisation of today's advanced frame and cell-based networks. Testing any service over any network layer over any LAN or WAN technology is a key advantage of the Network Analyser product family."

Agilent has recently added to the Network Analyser family with the introduction of the J6803A Distributed Network Analyzer PRO - a portable test system that provides local and distributed test capabilities for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of next-generation networks.

"The platform incorporates a wide variety of access interfaces in a small portable platform with a breakthrough wireless LAN user interface, making it the most extensible tool for diagnosing network and services issues for turning up problems and optimising networks. This provides realtime statistics and expert analysis when and where they are needed most," Coetzee says.

The new J6803A DNA PRO is a portable analyser with a built-in acquisition system which supports 10/100/1000 Ethernet, WAN, ATM, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, VoIP, Video, UMTS, CDMA2000, HSDPA, etc with the correspondent Line Interface Module. It includes an embedded processor with removable hard disk drive storage and a built-in power supply. Telemetry is either through a 10/100 Ethernet, Dial Up Adapter or WLAN.

Concilium says that the DNA PRO is highly flexible with dispatched on-site testing, unattended remote testing, and centralised troubleshooting, anytime, anywhere. It also provides maximum efficiency with its versatile management, including Web browser access, Instrument Manager, and network troubleshooting centre.

Coetzee adds, "Agilent test solutions provide an outstanding way in which to test LAN/WAN/ATM and VoIP networks. Network bottlenecks, misconfigurations, transmission errors, service levels and voice quality problems can quickly be identified. You can connect to more interfaces and more effectively isolate network problems with an Agilent test solution that fits both your needs and your budget."
