Design tool for PCB professionals

P-CAD 2000 significantly expands on the proven technology of the former Accel P-CAD PCB product by including as standard many of the advanced features that previously had to be separately purchased. Available locally from Channels, P-CAD 2000 supports board designs with up to 11 pre-defined and 88 user-defined layers. Extensive design rule and DRC capabilities help ensure that one's PCB is correct before going to manufacturing, saving cost on design iterations.
The design package offers productivity-enhancing features such as advanced schematic-PCB linking, comprehensive manual and interactive placement and routing tools, integrated component library management, and versatile documentation and design annotation support.
Another change in P-CAD 2000, compared with the former Accel EDA product range, is the elimination of the hard lock protection system. The elimination of the hard lock key increases installation flexibility and portability, and reduces the risk of system downtime commonly attributable to hardware failure or compatibility problems. Accel EDA users currently on maintenance (with the exception of networked licences) will receive 'keyless' updates to their existing products at no charge, says the company.
To accommodate the requirements of the widest range of companies and designers, P-CAD 2000 is also available in two other configurations, including a six-layer/400 component-limited version and a version tailored for front end design entry and specification.
