Characterising the insertion loss and return loss of fibre-optic cable is claimed to be easy with Tempo's 525N Smart Optical Loss Test Set.
Testing fibre cable in the field is a time consuming and complicated process and the 525N can simplify acceptance testing by automating the measurement process. It informs the user of Pass/Fail condition based on user set thresholds, and automatically assigns a fibre ID, saving the test result to internal memory. Once back in the office the user can download the measurements from the 525N via RS232 to computer and review the test results.
The 525N is housed is a rugged rubberised protective shell. It has a large backlit screen and sealed membrane panel. Rechargeable batteries provide up to 8 hours of operation.
