Analyse analog signals as frequency

5 October 2005 Test & Measurement

With only a 6,2 mm width, the Mini Analog signal converters from Phoenix Contact now include a configurable frequency converter in addition to the isolating amplifiers and temperature transducers.

The Mini MCR-SL-UI-f captures typical analog signals ranging from 0(4) mA to 20 mA, 0(2) V to 10 V, and 0(1) V to 5 V and converts them into a frequency signal. The following frequency ranges are available for selection: From zero to; 10 kHz, 5 kHz, 1 kHz, 500 Hz, 100 Hz, and 50 Hz. The signal combination is quick and easy to configure via the DIP switch. The advantage of this solution lies in the fact a more cost-effective digital input can be used on the controller in place of an analog one.

A particular feature of the Mini Analog signal converters is their 3-way isolation that prevents the different sensor circuits from interfering with one another.
