Visitors to the Regensburg Festival, which took place in June, were attracted to the town's famous Stone Bridge by a mysterious light. Osram Opto Semiconductors bathed the historic bridge in a magical atmosphere using two special LED spotlights. The lighting installation provided the lighting framework for the 'Treasure Island' medieval concept of Stadtmaus, the event organiser.
For this special application two standard spotlights with a diameter of 45 cm and a height of one metre were each adapted to take 72 Golden Dragon Puck LED modules. Each module contains three identical LEDs in red, blue or green, with each colour capable of being controlled separately. The result was a wide range of colours from red and orange to violet and even white, throwing fantastic light on the arches of the bridge. Depending on the colour mix, the spotlights provide up to 3000 lumens.
Golden Dragon LEDs are among the brightest and most powerful LEDs from Osram Opto Semiconductors. They operate reliably in temperatures from -40 to 100°C and can withstand harsh ambient conditions that are typically found in outdoor applications. Other benefits include their long life, high output and high reliability.
