Configuration software for power distribution systems

19 October 2005 Power Electronics / Power Management

'Rittal Power Engineering' is Rittal's new configuration software that provides system planners with a tool for simpler, faster configuration of low-voltage distributors with its SV-TS8 Maxi-PLS or SV-TS8 ISV systems.

The software encompasses the entire project-handling spectrum, from the automated generation of bills of materials, to the determination of prices, through to the ordering of materials. An extensive range of import and export functions also allows the software's master data to be supplemented with any additional third-party components needed to produce the distributor. Special enclosure assemblies may optionally be stored in the software as separate field types.

An extensive help function guides users through the program and explains the required work stages. By inputting separate parameters, bills of materials and drawings may be generated. At any time during field configuration, users have the option of adding other Rittal products or other components. Once system configuration is complete, the required system accessories may be ascertained at the push of a button, in a final stage. After configuration the user automatically receives a CAD view, which may be displayed, printed or exported as required.
