High accuracy mass imaging solutions to be showcased at Productronica
19 October 2005Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services
Productronica 2005 in November will witness DEK presenting an impressive range of industry-leading high accuracy mass imaging solutions.
"Productronica is a great opportunity for DEK to showcase its complete high accuracy mass imaging expertise, evidenced by the product range on display," explains Michael Brianda, general manager of DEK Europe.
"As European electronic manufacturing undergoes a period of significant change and advance, fuelled by the drive towards lead-free and continued industry development, delegates will be able to find out first hand how DEK has risen to every one of these unique challenges," he states.
The Productronica stage will be home to a diverse range of innovative DEK technologies, including the latest, Instinctiv-equipped platforms - Galaxy, Europa and Horizon. Delegates will see DEK's innovative machine user interface in action, whilst learning how it is able to interact with DEK machines to enhance productivity, machine utilisation and traceability.
The Galaxy high accuracy mass imaging machine platform with DirEKt Ball Placement is specifically designed to meet the speed and accuracy demands of SMT assembly and advanced semiconductor packaging. Alongside Galaxy, DEK will present the Europa platform with HawkEye and High Throughput Conveyor, also designed to equip assemblers for next generation SMT. This high-speed, feature-rich machine features impressive levels of accuracy and repeatability. In conjunction with the Europa display, visitors will also discover how faulty boards can now be assessed in realtime with the addition of the HawkEye automatic print verification technology.
The Horizon 01i machine will also join the exhibition, showcasing DEK's lead-free expertise. With the European directives signalling an end to the use of lead in electronics processes, DEK representatives will be on hand to provide lead-free advice to visitors wanting to learn more about this subject. In line with the lead-free drive, the presence of Pro-Flow enclosed print head technology will enlighten delegates on another aspect of the DEK lead-free portfolio. ProFlow is designed to address the challenges associated with using lead-free pastes, enabling repeatable aperture filling, low paste wastage and high throughput.
DEK will also demonstrate VectorGuard versions of its stencil technologies, available in the tiered Gold, Silver and Blue ranges, formulated to offer manufacturers superior end of line yield rates. Accommodating the challenges presented by lead-free in terms of paste rheology on aperture release, the pure nickel electro-form and laser-cut stencils achieve exceptional levels of paste volume repeatability. The stencil range will additionally feature PumpPrint, a convenient, flexible solution for adhesive deposition - inherently faster than conventional dispensers.
Additionally, DEK will exhibit a diverse variety of screens, tooling and consumables, optimised for modern electronics assembly.

A cordless ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) wrist strap does not work by grounding the person in the same way as a traditional wired wrist strap. Instead, it works by reducing or balancing the static charge on your body so that you are less likely to discharge electricity into sensitive electronic components.
