Spescom enters wireless broadband market

25 January 2006 News

Spescom's entry into the wireless broadband market has been hailed by the achievement of Gold Partner status from Redline Communications. Canadian-based Redline is a world leader in the development and manufacture of standards-based broadband wireless solutions including WiMAX.

Spescom Telecommunications sales director, Mark Goosen, says this advanced certification enables Spescom to market and support Redline's world competitive WiMAX solutions - aimed at delivering high bandwidth at reasonable rates.

"Spescom has skilled up to take advantage of the market opportunity that this technology offers by commissioning the University of Pretoria to design a wireless course, specific to the market sector and the technology involved. All of our technicians and engineers have attended and successfully completed the programme," says Goosen.

Goosen notes that Spescom will distribute Redline's products in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. According to Derek Wiggill, Redline Communication sales director for Africa, Spescom, in concluding this latest certification, achieved the highest grading due to its commitment and proficiency in selling and marketing Redline products.
