Tektronix is offering new software for its Spectra diagnostics product that offers comprehensive Sigtran and SS7-based signalling conformance testing capabilities for telecommunications carriers, developers and equipment manufacturers. Spectra Release 5.2 adds the ability to emulate, test, generate and evaluate networks and network elements that support the SS7 SCCP user adaptation layer (SUA) running over steam control transmission protocol (SCTP).
As carriers build out next-generation networks, they need testing tools that help ensure interoperability between legacy and VoIP signalling technologies and validate equipment performance across converged networks. Spectra 5.2 software adds SUA Tester, a new application which works in conjunction with Spectra's TCAP Tester and TCAP Generator applications.
The Spectra 5.2 Release is part of Tektronix' Internet Protocol Diagnostics (IPD) product portfolio that provides network equipment manufacturers and service providers easy-to-use test and measurement tools for the analysis and QoS measurement of media over IP and protocols in the core of converged multiservice networks.
