Free technical guide to microcontroller selection

8 February 2006 DSP, Micros & Memory

DT Electronics (www.dtelectronics.com) of the UK has produced a technical guide to microcontroller selection entitled 'Microcontrollers: options and trends in today's applications'.

This 4-page document summarises the main criteria for choice. It considers factors ranging from the performance of devices through to on-chip peripherals and high-level language programming.

The guide also discusses issues such as the portability of applications, the trade-offs in choosing 4, 8, 16 or 32-bit architectures, and the availability of application-specific support. Referencing devices from manufacturers such as OKI and Atmel, the microcontroller technical guide provides a useful overview of recent trends in the design and application of these devices.

DT Electronics is a franchised technical distributor of electronic components. The guide can be downloaded for free at www.dtelectronics.com/downloads/microcontrollers.pdf
