10 A power entry module is improved

8 February 2006 Switches, Relays & Keypads

Schurter's DF11 and DF12 power entry modules are suited for the protection of high loads where fuse-links cannot be used inside the modules due to the power dissipation. The design allows for mounting in movable as well as stationary applications where an on/off switch as well as over-current protection is required.

The DF11 consists of an IEC60320-compliant inlet, the C14, and a TA45 circuit breaker for equipment. The TA45 can be configured in various arrangements. There is a screw-in as well as a snap-in version for panel thicknesses of 1-8 mm. An under-voltage protection can optionally be used as an extension to the TA45 or alternatively, a remote trip release. The DF12 contains a line-filter for rated currents of 1, 2, 4, 6 and 10 A and is available as standard and as a medical version. The products are approved for 1-10 A 125/250 V a.c., 50/60 Hz, according to IEC/EN, resp. UL CSA. Furthermore, they meet all requirements according to IEC/EN 60950.

Key features include: recessed rocker switch prevents unintended actuation; surrounding flange improves mechanical stability; surrounding filter case improves shielding; improved filter components increases attenuation; manually resettable over-current protection with fine graduated tripping values; visual switching indication option; optional under-voltage release or remote trip release; standard and medical line-filter with 1- or 2-pole circuit breaker for equipment with rated currents of 1-10 A.
