Second source now available for crystal component

26 Jan 2000 News

Raltron Electronics is now offering a new family of crystal units Models TT-SMD-E and F. The two are direct form fit, function replacements for the Epson crystal units Models MA-505 and 506.

TT-SMD-E and F units, measuring 13,5 x 5,1 mm, offer a compact footprint for high density packaging applications. Maximum height is 4,6 mm. The E and F units are electrically and mechanically identical; they differ only in their internal pin configuration as do the Epson MA-505 and 506.

Crystal frequencies from 3,579545 MHz (colour burst) to 30 MHz are in the fundamental mode, while frequencies 30,01 to 50 MHz are in the third overtone. Standard frequency tolerance is ±50 ppm maximum at 25°C; selected units are available with ±30 ppm tolerances at 25°C. Frequency stability over temperature is ±50 or ±30 ppm/°C.

Standard operating temperature is -10 to +60°C, but extended operating range units are available from -40 to +85°C. Tough thermoplastic package is robust for 100 s pre-heat at 150°C and then 10 s solder reflow at 240°C. Units are shipped on tape and reel with 1000 units/reel.
