Non-contact position sensors

Murata's new SV21 non-contact position sensor series has an effective rotational angle of around 200° (typical sensors are around 90°). The device utilises a programmable Hall IC that is available in a choice of four output characteristics: taper; offset; lower limit; and higher limit.

Typical applications are as feedback sensors for actuators (eg, electronic control valves), position sensors for moving parts of a measurement instrument, or as position sensor for a joy-stick.

Linearity tolerance is 2,5% nominal (full scale) whilst the temperature compensation enables a coefficient range of -25 to 85°C.

Its durability is rated for 10 million rotational cycles.
