EBV - a full-solution provider

6 April 2006 News

EBV, a leading specialist in semiconductor distribution, offers solutions throughout the entire value-added chain: from comprehensive technical support and value-added services to the most up-to-date logistics solutions.

The EBV distributor in South Africa, EBV Electrolink, summarises these solutions as follows.

* Technical support: In this sense, it says it is important to have the best partners as well as an in-depth understanding of their technologies. Thus, EBV represents only 22 manufacturers - those that have the optimum offerings for its customers' markets. It has increased the number of applications specialists from 60 to 110 in the last three years and its technical sales team now has 240 employees. The fact that more and more customers are involving EBV in the very early stages of their designs illustrates the important role that EBV, as a genuine semiconductor specialist, can play in the current market. EBV is a leader in technology and market share for design-intensive areas such as analog, microcontrollers, DSPs, HF technology, programmable logic and optoelectronics. The company says it thus enjoys the full trust of its customers and suppliers in terms of technical expertise.

* Value-added services: With the motto: 'Programming and more,' EBV has combined a complete package of technology services, which helps customers to translate designs into series production as fast as possible and so save on time and costs. The company says it has a processing capacity of over 30 million units per year, which guarantees high flexibility for any number of units, and ensures that order deadlines can be met. It manages this through integrated service: ie, from one company, and one location. This results in quick turnaround. Whether programming electronic components for customers, laser marking, or taping and reeling, EBV says that it can guarantee a rapid and efficient implementation whilst complying with the highest standards of quality and reliability.

* Logistics solutions: Supported by flexible and modern tools, EBV has experienced logistics experts to guarantee a rapid and efficient implementation of tailored supply chain management. The 'Logistics on Demand' (LoD) service range extends from basic supply chain consultancy to complete solutions, from forecast management and Internet-based recovery to risk management. It says the LoD increases cost transparency in the supply chain resulting in lower inventory levels and working capital needs.

* Standard distribution services: Only a high quality of service assures customers that they are in good hands and that they are getting more than they are paying for. In view of this, EBV, which has a permanent inventory worth over 230m Euro and 100 000 individual orders per year, states that the quality of the processes, and the precision with which they are implemented, are prerequisites for customer satisfaction. It strives to respond to enquiries quickly and without unnecessary bureaucracy, to provide punctual deliveries at fair prices along with a high level of personal commitment until the successful conclusion of the project. This is what EBV understands by 'creating added-value for the customer.' And it says it offers all these services at the same high level from Copenhagen to Cape Town, from Dublin to Dubai.
