Digital-Logic's Microspace Entertainment Center (MEC) has won another prize for cutting-edge design: On behalf of the Microsoft Corporation, a jury of 10 designers, journalists and IT specialists awarded the MEC the 'Media Center Award 2006'. It was chosen best in the category 'Best Media Center Design'. The jury especially praised the MEC's compact construction, its accurate workmanship and its state-of-the-art design.
This has been the second award for the Switzerland-based specialist for embedded computers. The MEC was also awarded the 'iF Product Design Award 2005'.
The MEC is a digital media system which unites all home entertainment electronics (TV, digital video recorder, 6-channel HiFi sound system, MP3 player, DVD player, DVD recorder, electronic program guide, Internet, mailbox, computer, and home server) and all digital media within one compact home entertainment system with dimensions of 190 x 260 x 88 mm.
The MEC may be used in private homes, but is also ideally suited to be set up in hotels, training and conference rooms, for presentations in exhibitions, but also in mobile homes, yacht cabins and other places.
