Agilent reveals new wireless offerings

Agilent Technologies has unveiled several new products and initiatives in the wireless communications market. According to local distributor, Concilium Technologies, these products and solutions will help customers achieve challenging time-to-market and quality-of-service goals in today's environment of fast technology change and increasing end-user expectations. Agilent made the following announcements which include:

* New initiatives for WiMAX design and deployment.

* New IP UTRAN (UMTS terrestrial radio access network) signalling analyser solutions.

* New base station test systems compliant with the latest CPRI (common public radio interface) standards.

* New Bluetooth EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) test capabilities.

* Collaboration with Freescale Semiconductor to create ZigBee chipset test solutions.

* New capabilities for testing W-CDMA/HSDPA and GSM/GPRS.

"Agilent Technologies understands its customers are increasingly feeling the impact of change as both market conditions and technologies continue to evolve at an ever-increasing pace. It has upped its game by expanding the range of solutions offered to assist installers in deploying them quickly and reliably," says Daniel Coetzee, telecom sales engineer at Concilium Technologies. "Agilent's flexibility means that new services can be deployed quickly, which is key to both attracting new customers and minimising churn."
