Concilium has supplied the AirMagnet Laptop Analyzer and Surveyor Pro Professional to a large telecommunications provider in South Africa, enabling it to test and optimise wireless networks. Concilium, the only Gold solution provider for AirMagnet in southern Africa, has the mandate to provide the presales qualification, the products and the training to ensure customer satisfaction.
Daniel Coetzee, Concilium telecoms sales engineer, says training has been completed with key technicians at the client.
"The Laptop Analyzer provides security and performance analysis as well as built-in reporting. This troubleshoots the network, testing for security threats," continues Coetzee: "The AirMagnet Laptop Analyzer is the industry's most advanced standalone solution for wireless security and troubleshooting. It provides a direct automated analysis of any WLAN (wireless local area network) and proactively detects over 130 network problems and security issues. It also delivers a set of active wireless troubleshooting tools and offers a variety of reporting features."
AirMagnet Surveyor is a site survey tool for graphical network mapping providing WLAN professionals with everything they need to perform scientifically accurate site-surveys for the wireless network.
"Surveyor automates the collection of key Wi-Fi metrics and delivers detailed maps of the results for fast and easy network deployment, provisioning and ongoing optimisation," he says.
Coetzee adds that the implementation will provide a return on investment for the client by enabling them to cut down on the number of access points which are deployed, thereby saving on the hardware costs within the network.
