Mean Well offers the new NFM series (5 to 20 W medical on board PCB type) and PM series (5-20 W medical on board module type) power supplies that extend its medical product lines down to 5 W.
Featuring Class II isolation level for 5 to 15 W models and only 200 µA of leakage current at 264 V a.c. for 20 W models, they can be equipped into non-patient contact medical equipment and still comply with Class B per EMI regulations.
For 'green mode' energy saving PSU requirements, the no load power consumption is lower than 0,5 W for 5 to 15 W models and lower than 0,75 W for 20 W models. Standard functions include short-circuit, over-load, and over-voltage protections while OTP is also equipped for the whole NFM series.
General medical or industrial usage that requires low leakage current, general electronic application, and low profile IT equipment are all suitable applications of these on-board type PSUs on the main control PCB of the final system.
The new NFM series replaces the company's 'OFM series'. Other than its superior electrical characteristics, 4-9% boost in efficiency, significantly improved EMC performance (EN55022 class B standard) and its medical certificate compliance, with the same dimensions and pin assignments, it can be simply swopped out. The PM series is the encapsulated version of the NFM series.
With universal AC input (full range), the available DC output voltages are: 3,3 V/5 V/12 V/15 V/24 V. Cooling is by free air convection.
