14-bit 190 MSps ADC

3 May 2006 Analogue, Mixed Signal, LSI Asset Management Transport (Industry)

Texas Instruments has designed the new ADS5546 ADC to deliver unprecedented speed and performance. At 190 MSps, the company claims its new ADS5546 is the industry's fastest 14-bit ADC. It supports both SNR and SFDR at high input frequencies, and offers unprecedented interface flexibility - allowing the user to select either DDR LVDS or CMOS outputs. This ADC has a low power consumption of 1,1 W, operates on a single 3,3 V supply and comes in an ultra-small 7 x 7 mm 48-pin QFN package. The ADS5546 offers 73,2 dBFS signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and 84 dBc spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) at the maximum sample rate of 190 MSPS with an input frequency of 70 MHz, making it ideal for high-performance applications like wireless communications, video, medical imaging, instrumentation, test and measurement.
