Measurement, testing and visualisation at tradeshow to provide impetus for the industry

28 June 2006 Events Access Control & Identity Management Integrated Solutions

electronica this year will also be the highlight for the measurement and testing community. To date, over 300 companies, covering an exhibition space of around 20 000 square metres, have registered.

Besides exhibitors with a trade show focus on measurement and testing, this group also includes companies that are showcasing sensing elements (sensor technology is a focal point) as well as display equipment. There has been disproportionately strong growth recorded in the number of exhibitors for displays in particular.

The electronica trade show offers a unique overview of the state-of-the-art in measurement and testing technology and closely related sectors. In Hall A1, international exhibitors will be presenting their new product and system developments for test and measurement. The wide spectrum of offerings ranges from the measurement and testing of electronic variables, geometric, mechanical, time-dependent, thermal, chemical, and biological variables, to optical and acoustic variables and continues all the way to the detection and processing of images and patterns as well as to measurement technology for communications and cellphone technology.

These areas are joined by test systems and accompanying software tools, peripheral devices that can be used independently of the variables being measured, and specialised laboratory and test bay equipment.

Hall A2 is dedicated to the 'Sensor Technology' segment and features sensing elements from all application categories. At 'Displays' in Hall A3, all trade visitors who are interested in topics ranging from display sub-assemblies to complete monitors will find what they are looking for.

Two years ago, international attendees accounted for a 44% share of the 74 200 visiting professionals at electronica, and of the exhibitors, 58% came from outside Germany. This makes for a notable international mix in the areas of test and measurement, sensor technology, and displays. The event organiser, Messe München International, is again expecting approximately 19 000 trade visitors for this segment of the trade show, which this year is being held from 14 through 17 November.
