Compact telecom relays from Omron enable high density mounting by reducing the mounting area of the surface mount package by up to 56% compared to comparable alternative devices, according to the manufacturer.
By also meeting Telcordia specifications, the relays are suitable for use in telecom equipment.
The footprint of the Omron G6J-Y series measures 5,7 x 10,6 mm, creating a slim device that also achieves a low profile of 9,0 mm allowing cards to be closely stacked in rack-mount systems. The G6J-Y relay has DPDT contacts and is available in single-side stable or energy-saving single-winding latching versions. Single-winding latching operation saves up to 40% of the relay's overall power consumption. Package options include surface mount with optional short or long terminals, or through-hole mounting.
The Omron G6K series has a footprint of 6,5 x 10 mm together with a height of only 5,2 mm. The G6K is the world's smallest relay to meet 2500 V by optimising the distance between coil and contacts and it consumes approximately 70% of previous devices, says Omron. The G6K package options include surface mounting with both inside and outside-L terminals, or through-hole mounting. The G6K has a unique terminal structure for SMT Types for improved solder ability.
The RoHS compliant G6J-Y and G6K series include coil ratings of 3, 4,5, 5, 12 and 24 V d.c. in single-side stable versions, and up to 12 V d.c. in single-winding latching versions. Contacts have 100 mΩ maximum resistance, and are rated up to 1 A at 30 V d.c. with maximum switching voltage of 125 V a.c. or 110 V d.c. High mechanical life expectancy of 50 million operations combines with electrical longevity at rated load, of 100 000 operations.
