There is no escaping the fact that lead-free is one of the biggest challenges the industry has ever faced. Dek has been preparing for the transition for years, to ensure that every one of its customers is equipped to enjoy an optimised, lead-free performance.
For example it says, the new range of chrome-coated squeegee blades and ProFlow - a direct result of comprehensive application test trials. With more viscous lead-free pastes threatening efficient paste transfer, Dek discovered that chrome was the ideal material to redress the balance. Not only do the chrome-coated squeegee blades and ProFlow wipers deliver enhanced paste transfer efficiency, according to the company, they also reduce paste wastage for a more cost-effective lead-free environment.
As one might expect, one of the main issues raised by the lead-free transition is the prospect of contamination between lead-free and lead-rich pastes. This is why Dek has built in a series of identifiers to all its 'green' consumables, such as its anodised squeegee assembly. Going further, it also developed a green spatula to enable efficient cleaning of stencils and the ProFlow chamber head.
More information about the Dek Lead-Free experience and green range of consumables can be found at the company's website, www.dek.com.
